End Of 3D Printer Manufacturing

After 5 years of developing and producing our line of Hydra Research printers including the Nautilus and the Minnow, we have made the difficult decision to wind down our printer manufacturing business. We have decided to focus solely on our on-demand 3D printing services.

Thank you to all of our printer customers for your support of Hydra Research over the past years! While we are no longer selling our 3D printers, we are committed to the printers we have already sold.

Important Information for Printer Owners

Please read the following carefully as it pertains directly to you and your Hydra Research 3D Printer.

  • We will be honoring all existing warranties and HYDRACare service plans through the end of their current term.

  • HYDRACare plans will not be eligible for renewal once the current term ends.

  • We will continue to maintain and update our technical documentation through the end of 2023.

  • Switch to Prusa Slicer. Moving forward, we will be transitioning to Prusa Slicer. This was already planned before we decided to end our 3D printer business. Prusa Slicer is a more capable and robust slicer compared to Cura. Also, it will be much easier for us to maintain support for future versions of Prusa Slicer as we wind down our printer business. Instructions on how to get set up with Prusa Slicer are available on our website.

  • Support for the Hydra Research Printers Plugin for Cura has ended with the last supported version of Cura being 4.13.1. We will host a download of this version of Cura on our website if you still wish to use Cura.

  • We will continue to offer accessories and replacement parts for the Nautilus and Minnow while supplies last.

I realize this is disappointing news and you may have questions. Please do not hesitate to reach out via the contact options below with any questions you might have. It is our goal to make this wind-down process as smooth as possible and to ensure you can continue to use your Nautilus or Minnow for as long as possible.

Once again, I want to thank you for your trust and support of Hydra Research for your 3D printing needs.

Happy printing!
